- Open VS Code.
- Click on File.
- Then find Preferences -> settings.
- Click on the Text Editor in the left side menu.
- Then Click on Formatting.
- Locate the Format On Save Setting.
- Check or Uncheck: Format a file on save. A formatter must be available. the file must not be saved after delay, and the editor must not be shutting down.
