About Linnet’s How To

Guides that get to the useful part.

Linnet’s How To started from a simple frustration: too many guides take longer to introduce the answer than to explain it.

Why the site exists

Less waiting, more doing.

I started Linnet’s How To because I was tired of long, complicated guide videos that spent several minutes on introductions before showing the thing I needed.

The goal is simple: make practical guides that are easy to scan and quick to follow. Some answers only need a few steps. Others need more explanation, so longer guides have room for useful context without hiding the answer.

I also make video guides on YouTube. They follow the same general idea and are usually kept short.

Guide principles

A consistent way to explain things.

Start with the answer

The useful information should be easy to find without reading through unrelated background first.

Keep short guides short

A simple setting change does not need to become a long article just to fill space.

Add detail when it helps

More involved topics can include context, troubleshooting, code, notes or longer walkthroughs when those details make the guide easier to use.

More guides

Video guides and World of Warcraft.

Other Linnet guide projects

The main YouTube channel covers the same kind of practical how-to content as this site. World of Warcraft guides are kept separately on EpicWoWGuides and its own YouTube channel.
