- Open VS Code.
- Click on File.
- Then find Preferences -> settings.
- Click on the Text Editor in the left side menu.
- Then Click on Files.
- Locate the Enable Trash Setting.
- Check or Uncheck: Moves files/folders to the OS trash (recycle bin on Windows) when deleting. Disabling this Will delete files/folders permanently.
