- Open VS Code.
- Click on File.
- Then find Preferences -> settings.
- Click on the Text Editor in the left side menu.
- Locate the Tab Focus Mode Setting.
- Check or uncheck: Controls whether the editor receives tabs or defers them to the workbench for navigation.
