How To Enable/Disable Icing Effect Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

YouTube video

Adjust whether you want to enable physical
and/or visual only icing effects on the
aircraft when flying in certain atmospheric
conditions.
When this option is set to ON, ice accretion
will affect the airframe, injection systems,
carburetor, as well as pitot icing. Icing adds
to the overall weight of the aircraft and
disrupts the laminar flow of air over the
surfaces leading to a loss of altitude or even
a stall situation. Engine icing manifests in
different ways depending on motorization,
but in the end it results in a loss of power or
even a complete engine failure.
If set to VISUAL ONLY, the above physical
effects of icing on the flight model and
engine are deactivated, while keeping the
visual feedback on the airframe.
If set to OFF, no physical or visual icing
effects will occur.

  1. Click on the settings icon.
  2. Click on Assistances.
  3. Locate the Icing Effect option and change it.
